Past Spotlight: Orchid & Lily.

Our 2021 Better Human Spotlight had shared the story an extraordinary woman who was so deserving of this support as she herself is constantly giving to others. Meet our AAPI community member, Lily.

Lily is a first-generation Vietnamese American and current full-time graduate student studying clinical psychology with aspirations of bringing the benefits of therapy to the AAPI community that has traditionally shied away from it. Covid has caused her coconut business, which caters to events, to dry up unexpectedly.

In addition to losing her work, she became her mother’s full-time caregiver when her mother was diagnosed with several illnesses. Without events, Lily began mixing up elixirs last summer to aid with unexpected financial responsibilities. Her desire to give back to communities in need had her handcrafting over 1,000+ elixirs for healthcare workers fighting on the frontline at 16 local hospitals between Orange County and Los Angeles. Lily found the strength to help out her community even when her own circumstances were incredibly difficult.

We wanted to give her the support that she’s been so selflessly giving to others. Our goal was to bring direct impact to Lily while raising awareness about health and wellness in our communities. As a result we thoughtfully crafted the Orchid & Lily Empower Gift Box for purchase. The proceeds from these handcrafted wellness boxes went towards supporting a local AAPI community member in need.
